Steven Hutchinson is a Professor of Spanish at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. He received his doctorate in Comparative Literature at the University of Chicago, and works primarily on Spanish literature of the 16th and 17th centuries. His Cervantine studies include the books Cervantine Journeys and Economía ética en Cervantes, as well as some 25 articles on a wide array of topics. He is currently concluding a book entitled Writing the Early Modern Mediterranean. He is Senior Fellow at the Institute for Research in the Humanities (2016-2020) at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, and is president of the Cervantes Society of America.
